Baking has always been at the heart of our story.
It began with Elizabeth, whose earliest memories were of late nights spent in the bakery where her mother worked. Those hours watching her mom craft desserts carried into the elaborate birthday cakes she made for Elizabeth and her sister each year. These early experiences sparked a lifelong love for creativity in the kitchen and the joy that comes from sharing something made by hand.
When Elizabeth became a mother herself, she carried on that tradition – helping her mom make special cakes for her own children and discovering a deep passion for crafting desserts that connect people through flavor, color, and creativity. What started as a birthday tradition soon grew into something more.
After being asked to bake for a friend’s milestone birthday, Elizabeth spent days perfecting recipes and designs. The reaction to her work that night was overwhelming – guests began asking for her business card, and what began as a single order quickly evolved into a dream taking shape.
From those humble beginnings in a small home kitchen came a vision for a business built on passion, quality, and connection. Every creation is made with care, inspired by the same love of celebration that started it all.
Along the way, many incredible people have come alongside this dream – offering support, encouragement, and partnership. Their belief in the vision has helped transform it into the business it is today. We’re proud of our humble beginnings and can’t wait to see where this adventure continues to lead.

Elizabeth Owens
Founder & Head Baker
Hi, I’m Elizabeth – the baker and macaron maker behind The Mad Macaron. I fell in love with baking through my mom, who worked in a bakery and created the most amazing cakes for every family celebration. Over time, my passion for sweets evolved into something a little smaller – but just as special: macarons.
What started as a curiosity quickly became an obsession. There’s something magical about perfecting these delicate little cookies – from achieving the perfect shell to creating fillings that surprise and delight. Each batch I make is hand-crafted with care, using high-quality ingredients and a lot of love.
For me, macarons aren’t just desserts – they’re little pieces of joy meant to brighten someone’s day. Whether you’re celebrating something big or just craving a sweet treat, I’m so happy to share my creations with you.
When I’m not in the kitchen experimenting with new flavors, you’ll usually find me spending time with my three boys, playing cards with my husband, or hanging with my wonderful friends.

Hi, I’m Hannah!
I’ve always had a love for numbers, organization, and finding the best way to make things work. What began as helping out behind the scenes quickly became a true passion for supporting The Mad Macaron and helping it grow.
I handle the details that keep everything running smoothly – from refining systems and managing logistics to bringing structure and balance to the creative side of the business. I love turning ideas into clear, workable plans and seeing all the moving parts come together.
For me, it’s all about creating a strong foundation that allows the creativity to flourish. Being part of The Mad Macaron means getting to blend strategy with heart — and I couldn’t be more proud of the work we get to do and the joy we get to share through every dessert.
